...Волком во все сторона...
(Foreword to the book “Fumage”)
There are some interesting things going on in the modern poetry, too.
For example, the appearance of Kirill Burlutskiy.
That’s a great surname as it is, almost Burlutskiy!
And then actually comes poetry.
And the author’s understanding of it.
And Fumage.
Everything here has already been understood and enlightened by the poetry’s author.
There’s also a micro-manifesto explaining the Fumage technique.
In the poetry we’ll find referrals of all kinds to historical avant-gardists.
In the after-word self-interview the author is frankly speaking about the imagists.
Though he doesn’t mention their principal theorist, Vadim Shershenevitch.
He rightly does so. One should leave something for the potential foreword author too!
Let’s consider, for example, this line:
ну а Вы шла воочию мне у метро
Let’s see, what Shershenevitch has to do with this.
In the “Imagist’s leaves” (1920) Shershenevitch wrote: “Breakage of grammar, elimination of the old forms and creation of new ones, agrammatism – all this gives the sense into the hands of the image”.
And also: “We want to glorify non-syntactic forms. We are bored with the meanings of phrases: good morning! He walks!.. We are pleased with the figurativeness and senselessness of the non-syntactic forms: доброй утра! или доброй утры! или он хожу!”
Among those, who successfully brought to life the idea of agrammatism to life at that very time, in the 20s, we can name Nina Khabias, whose works were published only in 1997 due to the efforts of researchers.
And suddenly Kirill Burlutskiy pulls out the spaces
волком во все сторона
and this appears to be right to the point. As an example I’ll note the energetically intense ‘sacrifice’.
However (not really however, but substantially) energetics in the book emerges at the breaking point of grammar:
...я чёл
листами перстая Даля
Here one can feel correlation of the energetic message and sensation of word matter.
And Sosnora’s apparition is about right.
The poet is the wolf of words. He tests them as he bites them. And if it doesn’t fit, he’ll spit it out and will gnaw the others in a way so they’ll fit into their places.
Most importantly, these gustatory abilities last…for further search… во все сторона...
